UGREEN Nexode 30W Charger with Foldable Plug

I must have got a revised version as the logo is the right way up (see pic).The things I like:The wire connects at bottom rather than outwards so can use it in a tight gaps where there is a furniture/ walls in front of sockets unlike recent samsung chargers where the wire plugs into the front facing portGreat satisfying closing mechanism for the pins makes it easy to transport.- Works with third party mfi certified apple usbc to lightning cables to enable fast charge (tested on iPhone mini 12)(My official 25W Samsung charger does not)- Works with samsung super fast charging (tested on s22 ultra)- Works with dji action 3 fast charge- Charges my aukey and anker powerbanks in fast charge mode- Nice packagingNegatives:The normal price of ￡20 I think is a bit too expensive. But it regularly goes on discount recently at around ￡14 - ￡16 which is worth it in my view. I have purchased a second unit again at a reduced price in prime day sales.

I have reviewed a lot of chargers, cables and plugs on Amazon and here I am with yet another.The charger came in a shockingly small yet high-quality box, just large enough for the plug to come shipped. Inside the box was a small manual with some clear and readable text, a cardboard insert to keep the plug secure and then the charger itself wrapped in some plastic. So the unboxing was easy and very simple, not more than what is needed. Also, I am a fan of the recyclability of the packaging as it's all cardboard.The charger has a little weight/heft but this just attests to its sturdiness and its build quality. The charger has this lovely matte style texture which feels great in the hand. It comes in a fantastic-looking space-grey colour which looks amazing, and if your devices are space grey then this really fits in. I'm a sucker for space grey and all my Apple Devices are space grey so this just matches the aesthetic I am going for. The charger also has one thing that I want all charging plug manufacturers to implement, which is the handy folding travel prongs. This makes travelling and stowing away the charger so much easier as it reduces the footprint of the plug.This is a great charger with some of the latest charging techs in a wonderfully affordable and small package. It is compliant with the latest PowerDelivery (PD) 3.0 standard, supports QuickCharge (QC) 4.0 and has all the battery and charging protection systems against excessive current, overheating, overvoltage, overcharging and short-circuit protection... to name a few.The charger utilises the new GaN (Gallium Nitrate) technology to improve charging efficiency whilst keeping the adapter nice and cool. It is also the reason why this can all be packed into a nice and sleek item. It's been able to fast charge all my devices (Samsung S22 Ultra, Samsung Note 20 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro Max, 13" Macbook Pro, a GoPro and an iPad Pro 12.9 ... to name a few) all without a hitch and at their fastest speeds. These devices are amongst some of the most popular, so you can rest easy knowing that these devices work fine with the charger.Upon use, it was immediately nice to see that the ports were nice and stiff upon plugging in the cables. This is convenient as you feel comfortable knowing that the cable is nice and secure and won't come loose. Once connected to a Lightning to USB-C cable, I was able to charge my iPhone 13 Pro Max from 0 to 50% within 30-45 minutes.Overall I'm pretty pleased with this power brick at its incredibly competitive ￡19.99 price it's listed at the time of writing this. It may seem expensive, but it is small enough to chuck in a backpack to take to school or work and it fast charges most devices (including my power-hungry 12.9" iPad Pro). It is cheaper and smaller than some 30W chargers from the likes of Apple and rival competitors like Anker which have similarly priced plugs. It is also handy to know that this comes with a very useful 24-month warranty, should anything go wrong. I highly recommend it if you are looking to consolidate your chargers into one.

Its unbeatable power-to-portability ratio sets it apart: the charger conveniently fits in your pocket while delivering a robust 30W output, making it perfect for swiftly charging many flagship smartphones. Notably, it also includes a 20V mode, providing an option to trickle charge compatible laptops if needed. These features render it an ideal charger for my needs at work.One minor design oversight merits mention: when the charger is plugged in, the UGREEN logo appears upside down. While this doesn't impact its functionality, it may be a slight aesthetic distraction for those with an eye for detail. Nonetheless, this is a minor quirk in an otherwise outstanding product, and certainly not a flaw that warrants docking a star.

The UGREEN USB C Plug 30W has a nice fold away feature where the prongs fold back into the charger. This feature us great for putting it in my laptop bag when moving about. It makes it very compact.The charger also protects your device away from over-voltage, over-heating, short-circuiting, etc. This gives me good peace of mind when I’m charging my phone whilst sleeping. I often worry about this as other chargers have made my phone very warm when charging overnight.Overall, this is a great charger. It works without issue on my iPhone 12 and is very compact.

Transformer?This a neat design that is very appealing have a sweet mechanism.One of the issues with our wonderfully engineered for safety UK plugs, is they are relatively clumsy compared to the more compact foreign designs.This, the 30W variant of this adaptor series does a good job of mitigating the awkwardness of those sturdy prongs, by having them fold in to the body of the device, which is then not much taller that the body of a standard plug.That gives a neat pocketable adaptor.In terms of power 30W is respectable (over 18W is considered fast charging) and is a good compromise between size ( the more power means a bigger unit ) and portability.The device itself is well made, and presented I think, a nice shade of gun-metal grey.Price point reflects the design qualities, and there are a cheaper single USB C port power adaptors, but these have the usual fixed prongs are most are longer/larger too.On that basis, if you are looking for a compact adaptor that's easy to carry around and won't jab you with the usual three prongs of a UK plug, then this is a great choice.

I love how the plug pins fold away on this plug - it is such a neat design! It makes the plug really small and easy to transport and store. The plug itself is nice and small in any case - possible because it is a GaN charger which produces less heat so can be made in a smaller package. With 30W output and USB-C port, this is enough for any smartphone. An outstanding plug design and size.

This can be easely taken anywhere with you and used. Fits perfect in pockets and bag and folds away to protect damage to plug and yourself. Great brand and product and very well made. Im very happy with this and its power to fast charge my devices.

A great solution for those needing to charge devices that come with a USB C cable. This is a smart and compact plug. Ideal for home/office use as well as for travel in the UK.Really useful fast charging plug. The super fast charge is good, cut down the time my phone charges. It is the solid plug variety and it has collapsable pins which makes it even more portable. This thing was born to charge your phone. It’s *ridiculously* fast - we’re talking 0-50% in 15 min tops.Overall, this does its job well and is perfect as a travel charger to stick in your pocket or bag. I'll be sticking this in my work bag for any time that I'm away from my main desk or home.I absolutely cannot recommend this product enough.

GaN stands for gallium nitride, which is what the transistors in this are made from, and that means they can work at higher voltages and temperatures than typical transistors. So instead of putting out 5W like the charger that probably came with your iPhone, this pumps out up to 30W. Even so, it's a tiny thing with those super cool folding plug pins, and perfect for travel as well as everyday use.So a 30W charger will charge six times faster than a 5W charger, right? Sadly it's not quite that simple. The iPhone 14 for instance will charge at a maximum of about 26W, no matter what you put in, so won't quite use the full 30W this charger puts out. It's safe to use though – the extra power the charger offers just isn't drawn on by the phone.In my tests, this charger added 10% of charge for every 20 minutes when I use it with my iPhone 13 Pro. So that's quite fast (a 5W version adds about 6% in the same time) but not astonishingly so. The difference in charging speed with something like an iPad with a larger battery should be greater. And this should also be more than capable of charging a laptop.I like that it's a proper brand name I've heard of. It's well made and chunky. It only has a USB-C port so you might need dongles for devices that have the wrong connectors.
