Great for copying nvme drives. Use it for work to rescue dead computers. Very handy.
I’m honestly impressed with this UGREEN enclosure. Build quality feels solid, it’s easy to install an M.2 drive, and it’s been reliable for moving files and running backups. I like that it supports both NVMe and SATA (M/B+M key) and fits the common M.2 sizes (2230/2242/2260/2280), so it’s been flexible for different drives I had on hand. Speed note (important): I can get the advertised “fast” performance when I connect it USB-C to USB-C into a Thunderbolt/USB-C port that supports the higher USB speeds. But if I plug it into a regular USB-C port that doesn’t support that higher mode, it drops down and you’ll only see more Gen 3 / 10Gbps-type speeds. So the enclosure can do it — your computer/port has to support it too. Overall, great enclosure — just make sure you’re using the right port/cable if you’re buying it for the top speeds.
Lo mejor para trabajos con SSD, velocidades increíbles de transferencia para información ahorra una barbaridad de tiempo
This UGREEN 20Gbps M.2 NVMe/SATA SSD enclosure is absolutely top-notch. Setup took less than a minute — just insert the SSD, close the case, and plug it in. The USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface delivers incredible transfer speeds; I’m consistently seeing near 2,000 MB/s on my NVMe drives, and it’s also fully compatible with SATA SSDs.
I wanted to save some money on an external drive but I needed something fast so I bought one of those NVME drives but I didn''t want to put it inside the computer so this nifty little case made it external and it works perfect
Muy buen producto, recomiendo también comprar los adaptadores usb
Very durable and easy to install an M.2 SSD. Runs cool to the touch, but under heavy load it does get toasty! The speed is far better than cheaper clones on the market and no disconnect issues like other brands!I would highly recommend for an external SSD enclosure for high speed transfers, also great for backups.
If you like to buy anything that always works, buy Ugreen, this NVME enclosure is not the exception, work exactly as was published, works with no problems in my Macmini M1
Works fine but 10gbps max
Works really good with my Samsing 990 Pro 1TB SSD and Corsair MP600 1TB SSD
Works as advertised and gets the speeds they claim. Feels solidly built. Doesn''t pass smart data to the host they so will not work with DriveDx on Mac.
Speeds w a WD_SN850x 4TB drive. My port is only capable of 20GBPS as is the enclosure. These seem to be expected speeds about 80%+ of max, considering overhead/variables. I''m satisfied as this is sufficient for high-end gaming-and data transfer of video files of my size, etc. Hope this helps someone.
Great item
great price, great product, provides fast transfer data
The three products I used while testing :UGREEN 20Gbps M.2 NVMe SATA SSD Enclosurehttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2NHJT6TFX991 M.2 SSD 4TB NVMe SSDhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4YDX9LQSAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 Gaming M.2https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RK2SR23Using the UGREEN ssd enclosure and the SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD M.2 SSD and the UGREEN thermal pad, I had no instances of throttling and one full stoppage while transferring 500GB+ files.Using the UGREEN ssd enclosure and the FX991 M.2 SSD with its own stock thermal pad I had 12 instances of throttling and full stoppages while transferring 500GB+ files.Using the UGREEN ssd enclosure and the FX991 M.2 SSD with the provided UGREEN thermal pad, I had no instances of throttling and 3 full stoppages while transferring 500GB+ files. The Stock FX991 thermal pad was not great in this enclosure, using the UGREEN thermal pad functioned better better than FX991 stock one.The SAMSUNG 980 PRO with the included thermal pad does a pretty good job of transferring files, but it does get hot during large file transfers. External temps reaching 115 which isnt bad, but internally its enough to stop operating. The FX991 faired poorer, but is still functional.
works great! getting my full bandwidth (limited to the 20 USBC setup). threw in a 970 evo+ i had laying around. super fast compared to a typical usbc thumb drive. too slow to cause overheating issues. nice solid enclosure, well built, the included cable is ridiculously too short, buy a longer usb c cable for most users needs. i also recommend buying a storage case to keep everything together, convenient.
Love the enclosure and the speed great device
Excellent Product, Service and Seller, Thanks, Michael 2025
Very nice and well made. Great speeds, full USB 3 .2x2.Great for cloning drive to New m.2 and use as fast back up drive. Would recommend and buy again for sure.????
Id''s much faster than others.Very Quick ...Love it.
better than the 10GBps version, but this one is more expensive.
Solidly built and well designed. I originally purchased with the intent to use it temporarily, but have been using it 24/7 and it''s working great. Excellent heat dissipation and speed. I don''t have a 20gb port on my current pc to test its full capacity, but am building a new PC with more and faster ports. Holds the card securely and safely, and is easy to use.
This m.2 nvme adapter is very easy to make into a portable external hard drive. The materials feel very sturdy since it''s metal. It is lightweight and also has silicone on it for protection. Installation was very easy.
I really like this enclosure. High quality workmanship, easy instalation. The gray rubberized cover over the metal body gives it a nice contraast. I am very pleased with UGreen!
If you need a quick and budget solution (or if it''s your first time buying an SSD enclosure like me), this 20Gbps enclosure is for you. The only problem is how to achieve 20Gbps - it''s through USB 3.2 Gen2 x2. Most PC motherboards don''t really support that and MacBooks, or Apple products in general, do not support that protocol at all. Most PC motherboards out there would support up to USB 3.2 Gen 2, while MacBooks support USB4/Thunderbolt 4 - if you wanted to know what this says on an Apple computer when you connect it, it would say USB 3.1.Because the max speed is in a kind of a no man''s land, you only get about 980 Mb/s to 1001 Mb/s on Windows. You can get 1200-1400 Mb/s on MacBooks - most of the times you get the same speed as on Windows.Another problem I would like to add is of SSD recognition - Samsung Magician does not play nice with this. The software will not recognize your Samsung SSD in this enclosure - from the serial number, firmware, and protocol. Therefore, you cannot update the firmware on your drives without physically moving the SSD into a PCIe slot. However, your SSD will be recognized in Disk Utility (Mac), or Device Management (Windows).Sorry to tack on the problems, but do not think of using this as a boot device. You will get the ''inaccessible boot device'' error. In the end, should you buy it? Yes, it''s a quick solution to more storage, and 1GB/s is more than fast enough for most people. Another quick disclaimer, make sure you keep the USB cable that comes with this. Any other cable can either not power this, or severely ruin the transfer speeds.
Levo varias semanas utilizándolo junto a un SSD M2 de 1TB y funciona muy bien en mi Mac Mini M1.
Works great 20MBPS allows more file to move around.Does not heat.Does not have issue,Plug and play
I actually tried 6 or 7 enclosures (Mediasonic, GiGimundo x2, SSK x2, Viagkiki) before keeping this one. Most did not provide the advertised speed and/or ran very hot. Not this one. Dependable speeds while keeping the drive cool. The LED is on the side and large making it very easy to see. The silicone skin is nice and adds a bit of shock protection I did not have before, but does not add heat. Seriously, spend the extra $!0 and save yourself needing to replace your $200 drive.
This product is great. It is one of the smallest USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 enclosures you can get. It worked at full 20Gbps speeds, about 2000MBps in real world multi tread sequential reads and about 1750MBps in writes. It gets hot but withing spec of the SSD. Max temperature I saw was about 62 degrees C with constant writes. Again normal for most ssd''s. I was using a MSI M480 Pro 2TB double sided SSD for the testing, though I would not recommend that for normal use. It works best with single sided SSD''s.
