    Good product.

Currently running this with 3 8TB ironwolf's for photography storage and everything's working perfectly. Really well spec'd when comparing to the competitors and it performs superbly. Build quality is also great. I did have some vibration/clicking noises from drives, but adding somer rubber pads to the all plastic drive bays has greatly reduced the noise.I/O is way better than my DS932+. For starters, It has it's own sd card reader. Super helpful for backing up my cameras. It has capacity for 112TB of storage, DDR5 ram capacity of 64Gb, 2.5 and 10Gb ethernet as standard (no adding ports like you have to with my synology), 4 usb ports of which 2 are usb3.2, a type-c port and even a 4K HDMI out! It's got more ports than my laptop. For a NAS, I really can't fault it's I/O, it's stunning.I've spent a bit of time with the operating system, too. It's all pretty self explanatory and user friendly. I'm actually really pleased with the OS. Super easy do all the things I'm used to doing on my DS923+. If you've used Synology DSM, you'll have no issues jumping straight in, it's extremely similar. The UGREEN OS is running on the 128gb internal flash memory too, so takes up no space on any of my drives and runs very smoothly. There's also the option to run a different OS on a seperate nvme, keeping the UGREEN one safe incase you want to go back. It's not massively straight forward to set up a different OS, but it is possible. I really like that I've got the option to install whatever OS I want to, and I'm not locked down. So far though, the included OS has been more than satisfactory for my needs.VMs run well too, I've currently got Win10 and Mint set up. Both run perfectly well for a NAS VM and were a breeze to set up. Performance is better than my DS923+ too, as the hardware is just straight up better.I'm also impressed with the mobile app. Just like the installed OS, it's extremely simple to use and user friendly. I'm able to do most things I can do in a web browser or the UGREEN NAS client on Win11. Automatic backup of my phone was, again, extremely easy to get up and running.Even the UGREEN link feature that provides remote access from an external network has worked flawlesly. I can even use Authy for 2FA when logging in.The one thing that I do think it's currently lacking is apps. It's got the basics like a file manager, sync and media apps. But comparing to the apps synnology has, this is very barebones. Thankfully, I'm not so reliant on apps installed to my NAS, and the ones available on the UGREEN OS are more than enough for me.I'll mostly be using this for camera/pc/phone backups. And I'm really happy that the photo app on this is super nice. There's even local AI tools. Which can help with things like finding and deleting duplicate images or identifying people or scenes. You can even train a custom AI model to recognise anything you want it to. For instance, you could train a custom model within the photo app, and add further item recognition. Let's say to identify images of planes. And it would search your entire photo library and group all of the plane for you. Incredibly usefull stuff, and better yet, all offline. It doesn't require a single AI cloud service!Overall, it's an incredible NAS. All the things I need it to do, it does very well. Syncing folders between pc/nas or phone/nas, backing up sd cards, sharing media with one time url's, managing my photography library, It's all handled perfectly. And it's all easy to do either on desktop or my phone. It's specs set it far above similarly priced competitors, and there's scope to turn it into something way beyond most peoples needs. I can't ever see myself needing to have a 112TB NAS with 64Gb DDR5 ram and 10Gb Ethernet. But I'm sure glad I have that as an option. So, if you're in the market for a NAS in this price range, I can higly recommend this. Especially over synology's current offerings. Really hard to beat for the price (especially if on offer).

    Good product.

Well I have to say, this is one outstanding 4-Bay Desktop NAS from 'UGREEN', with an incredible spec, and those makers 'UGREEN' have made this device just so easy to set up, with an incredible interface. This NAS is a network storage device for home, office & even personal use. It is a totally intelligent data management centre where users can store and even retrieve data via their smartphones, laptops, tablets, and even TVs where there is internet access.Setting up was not a problem, I placed a mix of my hard drives and SSDs in each of the 4 bays, remembering of course that the NAS system will format all existing data on these drives, so that it can now set itself up to do the intended job - so I made sure that the drives I placed in the NAS were either new, or ones with non required existing data.A standard 3.5 inch drive will fit into a bay with no required extra screws, and 2.5 inch drives, are fitted using the screws kindly supplied by 'UGREEN'. Once the bays are locked (2 keys are included), I plugged the NAS in, and it started to set itself up, and then page 14 of the amazingly 'clear to read' instruction book shows how to log into the NASync DXP4800 Plus, to initialise it, after which data was available for sending and receiving from various devices on the same network. So to give a simplified example I was able to create 5 folders across the 4 drives, eg MUSIC, IMAGES, VIDEOS,APPLICATIONS, PROGRAMMING, and enough storage to send and retrieve on just a massive scale. So having placed my 4 hard drives in the 4 bays, this is where the 'UGREEN NASync' comes into it's own! as I was able to select RAID type for each of the hard drives.1. Basic Raid, where if the SSD/HDD gets damaged, data will be lost.2. JBOD type, 1 hard drive, again if damaged, data will be lost.3. RAID 0, Uses 2 of my hard drives, Strong Read/Write Performance, if one of those drives gets damaged then the data on THAT drive is lost.4. RAID 1, Requires 2 of my drives, then even if 1 of those drives gets damaged, the DATA will NOT be lost. The DESKTOP on the NASync includes an excellent range of extra apps, even the ablity to create virtual machines, this image shows a popular internet browser, and also the ability to install popular free operating systems.I have included a large amount of my own images, mainly because this device just does so much, and images are the only way really to show this device at it's best, without me having to show any personal data. The owner (admin) of course has full control of the NAS to be able to allocate space and permissions for each of the users that can be added, but the best scenario here to explain this wonderful device, is it would sit at the heart of the home with all your videos, music, images, virtual operating systems, and so much more, and then all the family can access any items that they wish (and allowed to access), and share too, with your TV's being able to access the contents of the NAS for music, videos images and more.I hope all my images are able to help to see just how amazing this device is, and this is so the future of pre-prepared home entertainment, computing, and file access. With a performance device based on a 12th Gen 5-core Intel Processor, The four SATA bays support up to 24TB each, and I can also install two additional compact M.2 NVMe SSD drives up to 8TB each (for SSD caching or additional fast storage). With all slots used, the maximum capacity is a truly massive 112TB, and data speeds up to an incredible maximum of 1250MB/s via two separate ports. Perfect for those who regularly need to transfer 4K video or other very large files. Please Take a look at some of my images, which have really shown the potential of this UGREEN NASync, I was ableto easily install 3 operating systems, (2 x Linux 32 bit and 64 bit) and also WINDOWS 7 (Pro), all from images, and they all installed in no time thanks to the included APP, and then able to experiment with the study of these operating systems, and all accessible from the network too. Awesome! And as a final thought, there are plenty of additional ports included with this NAS. At the front of the NAS there is a USB 3.2 Gen2 Port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 Port, an SD Card Slot, and at the back of the device, an HDMI port, another USB 3.0 Port, 2 x USB 2.0 Ports, a 2.5GbE & 10GbE ethernet ports.

    Good product.

As a user of Synology NAS devices for many years, this unit from UGREEN is the new kid on the block and offers a real challenge to the traditional big players.Firstly, the packaging is really good. It's beautifully presented and packed and really gives a great first impression of a quality product. You get a user manual and power supply. There's a couple of network cables, some heat pads for SSD's and even a little screwdriver and screws to secure your disks - Not that you need them because the pull out drive bays just unclip to take your drive and then fasten to hold it secure without needing any tools. The NAS unit itself is a beautifully designed unit that is really elegant and modern looking. Especially impressive is the magnetic dust filter that clips onto the back. Really useful given the amount of dust that my synology units collect in the fans. The hardware is really well specified too with a powerful intel CPU and a relatively massive 8gb of memory, easily expandable to a whopping 64gb. Access to the compartment for adding up to 2 m2 SSD's and upgrading the memory is really easy too just by unscrewing a plate on the bottom of the unit. The quality and specification of the NAS really puts my Synology units to shame and makes the whole experience far more responsive and pleasurable. It also allows features such as AI assistance within the App, especially useful with the Photo app. Each hard drive can be a maximum of 24TB and the SSD's add another 2x8TB allowing up to 112TB of storage.Once you have some storage installed, you can power up the NAS and once it beeps searching for it on the phone app quickly discovers the NAS and allows you to configure it.I was a bit disappointed that the MacOS App needs the full security applied and if you have your Silicon Mac set to 'Permissive Security', you just get an error when trying to start it. This is a bit of an annoyance as I need permissive Security for other things I run. Fortunately, the mobile app and web browser is also available. The app has been especially developed by UGREEN, and whilst it's slick and easy to use, it is also showing it's youth and lacks the depth of features and maturity that the Synology systems provide. It does allow most of the basics to be done pretty easily though and moist of the core stuff is there and easy to use.You can do all the basics pretty easily such as creating users, volumes, folders and sharing. Once set up, the shared folders show up as network folders and transfer speed between the two is pretty impressive. You can also share items to people not on your NAS by creating a link allowing them to be accessed from outside your internal network. The Photos App is pretty impressive too with it's AI capability and easily accessible from a mobile. Obviously you can also set up automated backups and even run virtual machines that are actually quite usable due to the high specification of the hardware. In summary, its a really smart device. It has the benefits of being a modern unit with modern software optimised for maximising the way it's used, without having to carry a load of dated stuff from legacy versions, but as a result it's also quite immature and doesn't yet have all of the depth of functionality that Synology can provide, although I'm sure this will change rapidly and even now you can do most things that the average user would want. The unit's are still quite expensive, but you do get a really much better specified box than the equivalently priced Synology box.I'd recommend it.
